Diamond

Diamonds are judged on four things: cut, colour, clarity and carat. Cut is the one that decides how bright a stone looks, because it controls how light travels through it and returns to the eye. A well-cut smaller diamond often outshines a larger stone cut to preserve weight. Colour describes how near-colourless a stone is, and clarity how few natural marks it carries. Neither needs to be perfect: most marks are invisible without magnification, and paying for a grade you cannot see is rarely the best use of a budget. Every stone in our Kooheji Diamonds collection is a natural diamond, graded individually before it is set rather than assessed as a batch. You will find diamond pieces across the house: Noor for halo designs, Waad for bridal, and tennis for diamond lines. If you are buying your first diamond piece, studs or a single-stone pendant are the easiest place to start, since both suit daily wear and pair with almost anything. Book an appointment and we will show you stones side by side so the grading differences are visible rather than abstract.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know a diamond is real?
Buy from a jeweller who grades and documents each stone, and ask what the grading covers. Every diamond in Kooheji Diamonds is a natural stone graded individually for cut, colour and clarity before setting. Visual tests circulating online are unreliable and can damage a stone.
What are the 4Cs?
Cut, colour, clarity and carat. Cut is how well the stone is proportioned and has the largest effect on brightness. Colour is how near-colourless it is. Clarity is how few internal marks it has. Carat is weight, not size, though the two are related.
Which of the 4Cs should I prioritise?
Cut, in almost every case. It is the factor you notice immediately and the one that makes a stone look alive. After that, choose the colour and clarity range where the diamond still looks clean to the naked eye, and put the remaining budget into carat if size matters to you.
What is the difference between natural and lab-grown diamonds?
They share the same chemistry, but a natural diamond formed in the earth over a very long period while a lab-grown stone was produced in weeks. That difference in origin and rarity is reflected in price and in resale. Our collections use natural diamonds.
How should diamond jewellery be cleaned?
Wipe pieces with a soft cloth to remove skin oils, which are the usual reason a diamond looks dull rather than any damage to the stone. Avoid harsh chemicals, and have settings checked once a year on pieces worn daily.
